This is the front bulkhead panel that forms the front wall of the dryer drum opening. It provides structural support for the drum and typically includes the felt seal and bearing surfaces that allow the drum to rotate smoothly. Replace this assembly if the front panel is cracked, warped, or worn, or if you notice excessive noise, drum wobble, or clothes getting caught between the drum and the front panel.
From reading "troubleshooting" sites on the internet, originally thought I'd be replacing the front & rear drum rollers, so I ordered the rollers, and a new belt before I opened up the dryer, taking it out of use. When I opened it up the front rollers were "shot", and the front bulkhead was "totaled". I spoke with the experts at parts pro and they suspected the main power board. I ordered the main power board along with the control panel. Since I was taking everything apart I decided to replace other components as well- thermostats, thermistor , sensor wire. When I was all done the old LG was back to working like new. Due to burnt wires, the whole wire harness had to be replaced as well as the power cord. The dryer was taken apart, removing the control panel and drum to access all of the wires and connection points. The old wire harness removed and the new wire harness installed. This was done systematically so as to ensure the new wire harness followed the exact same routing. Read more
