This is the front bulkhead panel that forms the front wall of the dryer drum opening. It provides structural support for the drum and typically includes the felt seal and bearing surfaces that allow the drum to rotate smoothly. Replace this assembly if the front panel is cracked, warped, or worn, or if you notice excessive noise, drum wobble, or clothes getting caught between the drum and the front panel.
From reading "troubleshooting" sites on the internet, originally thought I'd be replacing the front & rear drum rollers, so I ordered the rollers, and a new belt before I opened up the dryer, taking it out of use. When I opened it up the front rollers were "shot", and the front bulkhead was "totaled". I spoke with the experts at parts pro and they suspected the main power board. I ordered the main power board along with the control panel. Since I was taking everything apart I decided to replace other components as well- thermostats, thermistor , sensor wire. When I was all done the old LG was back to working like new. Thought heating element was bad but turned out to be short in power cord which I had to order new wiring hardness. First time ordering from Appliance Parts. They had the best price, better shipping price and said normal shipping was 1.7 days. Couldn't get that locally. Never ordered anything online that normal shipping didn't take at least 5 days. Ordered on a Tuesday, setting on my front porch midday that Thursday. Hard to believe over 300 miles away. Read more
