I checked the continuity on the heating element first and it needed to be replaced. I replaced the heating element and checked all the other continuity and they checked fine. However, I still wasn't getting heat, the controls were working, and the dryer was tumbling but would not shut off without opening the dryer door. Checked all thermal fuses and replaced. - Still no good Replaced Main Board - Still no good Tested motor and did not get good ohm readings so replaced Motor unit - Still no good Checked voltage coming to back of dryer - one phase was 0 volts and the other was 220. Plug and outlet had arc'd and shorted. Replaced cord and outlet - All is good :) Read more
Due to manufacturer changes, the idler assembly is no longer included. If needed use part number DC93-00634A. For the motor bracket only use part number DC61-01213A.
At first I thought it was the dryer belt. The drum would spin freely with no resistance. I went to Youtube to find a instructional video on how to change the belt. After a few short steps on had access to the dryer belt. To my dismay it wasn't the belt at all. I realized after doing a quick inspection that the idler wheel used to put tension on the belt had broken and was causing the issues.
