Remove and replace the heater element. I tested the heater element first to be sure it was causing the error code. Articles on the internet describe several ways to test the heater element. I chose the direct method which required putting dishwasher on its back and removing the bottom tray to gain access to the heater element. Got my son to fix it for me. He had to pull the dishwasher out from under the counter to reach the remaining part of the door latch. He removed the spring mechanism and placed it onto the new replacement latch and replaced the single screw holding the latch onto the dishwasher. Took him about half an hour. It's good to have sons!
