The burner skirt is a decorative ring that surrounds the gas burner on your range's cooktop surface. Replace when the skirt becomes warped, discolored from heat damage, or develops cracks that affect the burner's appearance.
The range surface burner drip pan skirt is a decorative trim piece that surrounds the drip pan beneath electric coil burners. Positioned around the heating element area, it provides a finished appearance and helps contain spills. Replace when the skirt becomes warped, discolored from heat damage, or no longer fits properly around the burner assembly.
Thes rings degrade over time due to heat and will eventually crack and dry out. Replacing them with new ones doesn't take much more than a few minutes. I just unscrewed the burner caps to expose the rings and dropped in the new ones. I recommend replacing all the rings at the same time vs just doing one or two. Read more
