Thes rings degrade over time due to heat and will eventually crack and dry out. Replacing them with new ones doesn't take much more than a few minutes. I just unscrewed the burner caps to expose the rings and dropped in the new ones. I recommend replacing all the rings at the same time vs just doing one or two. Read more
