This is a small plastic latch that secures the detergent or fabric softener dispenser drawer in the closed position on a front-load washer. It clicks into place to hold the drawer shut during the wash cycle and prevent leaks. Replace this latch if the dispenser drawer won't stay closed, pops open during operation, or the latch tab is cracked or broken.

Ordered the replacement timer (perfect match, packed nicely, and delivered on the 3rd day after order!), sprayed a tiny bit of grease on the motor gear, and a little silicone spray on the control wheel, and installed the part. Also, noticed that a badly balanced wash load could cause the tub to slam into the edge of the timer.
