When trouble shooting the problem I found that the light switch housing outer lip was broken allowing the switch to push through mounting surface behind the oven door. This is a slide in range so, I proceeded to pull the range away from the counter where I could unplug the power cord. Once the power was off like located the panel on the right upper side of the unit and removed the screws to allow access to the switch. This assembly includes the motor that drives the oven door latch mechanism and the switches that confirm whether the door is locked or unlocked during the self-clean cycle. This genuine OEM part is a clock timer for ovens. The clock timer is the part of the oven that allows the user to set a time for cooking and baking. If the timer buttons are no longer responding to touch or the timer's digital display is no longer visible, it will need to be replaced. Luckily, replacing a timer is a fairly simple repair.To get started, make sure the range is unplugged. Once unplugged, pull the range out and away from the wall to gain access to the upper back panel. Remove the mounting screws to the panel to gain access to the back of the control panel. Locate the timer and proceed to unthread the screws that hold it in place. Once loosened, pull the timer out of its place and install the new timer by threading the mounting screws that secure it to the control panel. As described, thanks your helped repair what the repairman would not or could not do.. Bottom element shorted and burned up from previous homeowner, not sure why or how? Replaced both heating elements, still no heat, the clock controller was also damaged due to the shorting even though it appeared to work OK, just no heat.
