Well the first week of December 2013 I was cooking a turkey in my oven and the oven stopped working. I was upset because the oven was less than two years old. The Oven Door Seal is an OEM replacement part for select Frigidaire oven and range models. It fits around the outer edge of the oven door, creating an insulating barrier that locks in heat. The seal is critical for efficient baking and broiling by preventing heat loss from the oven cavity.

Symptoms of a faulty oven door seal include:

Leaks of hot air or smoke around the oven door when in use
Inconsistent or improper cooking results from uneven heating
The oven not reaching or maintaining the set temperature
The outer oven door and surrounding area getting hot during use

Causes include shrinkage and cracks from years of exposure to heat. Grease and residue accumulating in the door channel could also compromise the seal's fit.
