The Front Felt Glide Assembly is an OEM part for Frigidaire dryers. This part allows smooth operation of the dryer drum, providing a felt pad that the drum glides on as it rotates. This not only helps to support the drum but also minimizes friction and noise, contributing to the efficient and quiet operation of the dryer.
Over time, the felt portion of the glide assembly can wear down, leading to increased friction between the drum and the dryer's front panel.

Recommendations have fun and a bucket to prevent losing parts. First watch the videos, practice disassemble and reassemble the dryer drum. Make certain you have a good screw driver and spatula from kitchen (could not find my putty knife). The nylon slides on the front felt seal were worn out, allowing the drum to sag in the front. This is where our clothing would get caught and scorch. I replaced the felt, rear bearing kit and while I was that far, I replaced the belt as it's very inexpensive. All done for less than 10% of a new dryer purchase. Read more

Replaced the Idler Pulley, which I think was the problem, but also replaced the bearing the tub rotates on and the belt while I was going to have the dryer apart anyway (and I used the high Temp Lubricant on the bearing.) Watching the repair video was helpful so I didn't run into any surprises. Read more
