I determined that it was a problem that occurred during the defrost cycle by resetting the GFCI outlet and forwarding the defrost timer until the defroster came on. I replaced defrost timer (which I am glad I did because of wear on the points) but that did not cure the problem. So after checking other components, I found that the temperature control was the culprit. No problem, I will simply order part # 2162521100. Well Frigidaire decided to obsolete that part and "Has not provided an approved substitute". So, I have to scrap this freezer and pay $800 to $900 for a new one? Not! A removable cap that covers the freezer's defrost drain hole, typically located at the bottom rear of the freezer compartment. Replace when water pools in the freezer, the cap is missing, or ice blocks the drainage system.

Simply took out old that was falling apart and pushed in the new one. Because it was packaged bent in two places, it didn't fit as snugly in one section as it should, the bend wouldn't totally straighten, but hoping it's OK. Read more
