Replacement mounting screw secures panels, trim, and components in microwaves. Needed when original screws are stripped, missing, or lost during repairs.
I ordered a replacement handle from Appliance Parts Pro.com and installed it after watching the video at their site for a similar model. The video told of the trick on removing the door surround that allowed me to access the handle screws. I purchased new handle screws at the same time I bought the new handle. The new handle and screws were a bit different than the original but fit perfectly. Hopefully it will be more durable than the original handle. Read more

Microwave won't turn on, made popping noise, or smells like burned electrical? The noise filter often fails when solder joints arc or short out.
When using the microwave it made a frying sound and completely stopped working. Took cover off (after unplugging) and found filter coil solder joints fried. Took a chance on replacing filter. Works perfectly now. Looking at the solder joints again, under magnification, discovered they were not done properly in the first place. Use caution with cover off, there is a capacitor near the filter that could prove dangerous. Also need tamper proof torx bit to remove 2 of the cover screws, or small... Read more

Watched under dishwasher during rinse cycle to see if I could determine where it was leaking. Could not. So watch a number videos to give me an idea what might be the problem. The suspect was the drain hose. So I pulled out the dishwasher and removed the drain hose. Hose looked ok, but during the removal a rubber check valve fell out from drain pump. It was obviously damaged and severely corroded. So I replaced both pump and hose. Easy enough. Turn off power. Disconnect water... Read more

Microwave not heating or display not working? This control transformer supplies low-voltage power to electronic components. Moderate DIY repair.
Coiled tension spring for microwave door latch mechanisms. Restores proper door closure when original spring is stretched, broken, or missing.
It took a long time to determine the problem but eventually I discovered that the plastic bracket (latch hook) that held the three door-switches showed appreciable wear from repeated door openings and closings. This wear stopped the door from sealing properly and the door switch safety mechanism blew the line fuse. I replaced the worn bracket (AP6230612) as well as the plastic latch mechanism (AP4553585) on the door that engages this bracket (and of course the fuse too) and the microwave now... Read more
