This is an auger motor located in the freezer compartment that drives the auger mechanism to push ice from the ice bin to the dispenser chute. It activates when you press the ice dispenser lever or paddle on the door. Replace this motor if ice has formed in the bin but nothing comes out when dispensing, the dispenser makes no sound, or you hear the motor humming but ice does not move forward.
