This replacement part is an electronic control board. It is manufactured by Whirlpool and is responsible for monitoring and controlling the functions in a refrigerator. It ensures that the compressor turns on at the appropriate time, handles freezer defrosting, and much more. It can be damaged by exposure to moisture and extreme temperatures.If the control board has failed, the refrigerator most likely will not operate at all. In some cases, users may notice intermittent operation, but the board should still be replaced as soon as possible. To replace the board, first unplug the refrigerator. Always wear gloves when servicing the refrigerator.This is a genuine OEM part and it is sold individually. It fits Whirlpool, Kenmore, Amana, and Roper branded refrigerators.

I used Part WP2307049 show here. But, Part WP2307048 is the other half of the CAM but this part is no longer manufactured or available anywhere. So I also purchased Whirlpool 4318165 Cam kit set and used the part that was similar to WP2307048. I had to shave down part of the piece but was able to get it to work. Read more

Turned water off at the wall. Disconnected hose from the wall side. Went to front of fridge and removed lower cover. Removed the 2 filter housing mount bolts for better access to water line. Pulled out lock tab from hole in filter housing where hose goes in. Use flat tip screw driver to pry tab away from housing. Installation put lock tab on hose end and insert hose end into filter housing. Push all the way in until hose locks in place. Connect other end to wall. Reinstall filter housing... Read more
