Replace escutcheon (black control panel) on ge gsd5560g00ss Paul B. • Fleming Island , FL • September 05, 2015
The repair is fairly straightforward. Remove the Phillips head screws on the interior of the door to access the back of the Escutcheon. Note that the bottom 2 screws on the door are machine screws with a tighter thread. I put small clamps on the door hinges to hold the door down as it will want to pop up as soon as the weight of the interior door plastic has been removed.
