I ordered a replacement handle from Appliance Parts Pro.com and installed it after watching the video at their site for a similar model. The video told of the trick on removing the door surround that allowed me to access the handle screws. I purchased new handle screws at the same time I bought the new handle. The new handle and screws were a bit different than the original but fit perfectly. Hopefully it will be more durable than the original handle. Read more

The Switch/Overlay Assembly is an OEM component compatible with select Frigidaire microwave models. It includes both the control panel switches and overlay graphics that operate the unit. This assembly allows for accurate input and operation of cooking times, power levels, and other functions.

1. Had to remove microwave from insert and outer enclosure to access the switch because the enclosure would not permit the control panel to be released from the microwave. 2. Once the enclosure was removed, the panel was released for easy removal. Note: Two screws holding back of enclosure had to be slotted before removing. After some research i diagnosed that it was possibly a control board going bad from some power outages over time. first i opened the panel to check if any of the plugs into it were loose and it worked for a while then eventually just cut out. ordered the part and then unhooked all plugs from the control board. this requires removing the filter hood to view the screw securing the control board.
