This latch sister board controls the oven's motorized door lock used for self-clean and safety interlock functions. Replacing a failed board restores reliable lock/unlock operation so your oven can start cycles and complete cleaning as designed.
Install notes:
I didn't pull the double oven out of the wall making it a little tighter to work on. Installation takes 5 minutes Disassembly takes a little longer. So it took me about 30 minutes start to finish. Suggestion.... always use your phone to take photos as you disassemble electric parts. Remembering wiring assemblies can be daunting. The parts were OEM. No adaption required. The microwave cooling fan motor circulates air to prevent the magnetron and other internal components from overheating during operation. Replace if the microwave overheats, makes unusual noises, displays error messages, or shuts down unexpectedly during use.
The hardest part of the job was removing and lifting the built in oven out of the cabinet. Once it was out of the cabinet we had to remove the metal panel to reach the blower motor. Remove Whirlpool oven door (see videos online). Ladies...the door is somewhat heavy. Place door panel face up on stable surface. Unscrew bottom 5 screws and top 2 screws, slide front panel downward to release. Place front panel on safe surface face down on protected surface with handle hanging over edge. Remove obvious 4 handle screws. Install new handle in proper direction (writing on inside of handle will be upside down) and 4 screws. Clean all inside glass areas while the panels are off and...
