Protective cover for the fresh food compartment temperature sensor in your refrigerator. Replace if cracked, broken, or missing to shield the thermistor.
Found on-line troubleshooting guides. Checked motherboard, showed infinite ohms on heater/thermostat circuit. Took apart freezer compartment, found defrost heater element was toast.
