Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Ge profile washer model wpre6100g1wt: the water did not stop filling the tub and it overflowed on to the floor luckily i noticed in time to turn off the power before it continued without stopping   Larry R. • Oak Lawn , IL • March 16, 2015

I discovered that the water pressure sensor was jammed in the far reset position (full clockwise) by a damaged control knob and that the sensor spring was not strong enough to return the knob/sensor to the max fill position and shut off the water. The control knob collar that fits on to the sensor shaft had broken and a small piece of the damaged plastic collar wedged against the front panel which caused the knob to stick in the reset position. A new replacement knob was easily fit up and fixed... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Leaking washing machine   Robert P. • Beech Grove , IN • November 11, 2018

Took front panel off, added water to tub, then drained to see if pump or hoses were leaking. They were not but still saw water on floor but couldn't tell where it came from, so took top panel off and noticed corrosion on the metal mounting plate near inlet valve and sprayer head and sensor, soI bought those 3 parts, 45 mins later it was done with no leaks. $58 is a lot better than $450 for a new one! Saved myself $300 to $400 Read more

Its alive!! After a recent power surge, our washer would not spin or agitate. I tried replacing the timer but the motor still would not spin or agitate. I was really hoping the motor was not fried. I replaced the fuse and its working like a champion again! I un-installed the new timer, put the original timer back in, and it still works great, so I even get to return the new timer and save a little money. Thanks for the generous return policy! Common theme on the blogs was thermistors and or defrost heater/thermostat. Ran self-diagnostics which turned on defrost heater which was fine. All five thermistors indicated ok on diagnostic also, but I read more than one time "replace the thermistors no matter what if your FF section isn't cooling".
