I discovered that the water pressure sensor was jammed in the far reset position (full clockwise) by a damaged control knob and that the sensor spring was not strong enough to return the knob/sensor to the max fill position and shut off the water. The control knob collar that fits on to the sensor shaft had broken and a small piece of the damaged plastic collar wedged against the front panel which caused the knob to stick in the reset position. Took front panel off, added water to tub, then drained to see if pump or hoses were leaking. They were not but still saw water on floor but couldn't tell where it came from, so took top panel off and noticed corrosion on the metal mounting plate near inlet valve and sprayer head and sensor, soI bought those 3 parts, 45 mins later it was done with no leaks. $58 is a lot better than $450 for a new one! This thermal fuse protects the washer motor from electrical overload by breaking the circuit when excessive current is detected. Located in the motor assembly, it needs replacement when the washer won't start or operate despite having power.
Its alive!! After a recent power surge, our washer would not spin or agitate. I tried replacing the timer but the motor still would not spin or agitate. I was really hoping the motor was not fried. Common theme on the blogs was thermistors and or defrost heater/thermostat. Ran self-diagnostics which turned on defrost heater which was fine. All five thermistors indicated ok on diagnostic also, but I read more than one time "replace the thermistors no matter what if your FF section isn't cooling".
