I removed the rubber tube and the plastic electric clip plug from the water level switch. This allowed me to twist the switch and lift it away from the panel. Time for the replacement... Read more
Researched this kenmore washer on-line and found the problem to be the lid switch. Saw a diagram on how to jump this switch by connecting a wire to both outside wires on the harness and voila! It worked! This is not a fix but it allowed me to finish the load of unwashed clothes and told me which part was bad (do not run washer jumped like this.......fire hazard!) Ordered the lid switch and it was an easy repair. A $14.00 switch was a lot cheaper than a $450.00 washer. Thanks appliance parts... Read more
After repairman ($80 service call) said it was the pump, I replaced it. Water still wouldn't drain so a second service call (no charge if within 90 days) was told it was a 2-way valve. Chain store wanted $150 for the part, bought with ApplianceParts.com for $95. I installed it, so far so good, machine seems to be operating just fine! Read more
