Replacement shelf for top-mount refrigerators. Includes glass insert for sturdy food storage. Replace cracked, shattered, or broken shelves.
The first time it broke my husband glued it. And it lasted a while. This second time the whole thing collapsed as we must have been stuffing too much cheese into the drawer. My husband took the shelf out above it and when he took the screws out the glass shattered. He didn’t tell me right away, but when he did he said he had some sad news. But he put a temporary piece of wood in the frig for the food. I had to find the part online. If we had known that the part we needed was only 6.00$ the... Read more
Fix freezer ice buildup and warm fridge temps with this defrost heater. Melts frost from evaporator coils during defrost cycles. Moderate DIY repair.
Heater defroster part number AP5982425. I have GE model GTE16DTHCRBB. I found a Youtube video of a repair of a similar model. Getting the heater defroster out was not a piece of cake because you can not see the mounting due to it being behind the coils, same is true for reinstalling the new. There is a strap on top of the heater defroster that has to be connected to the heater defroster before being reinstalled. It kept falling off as I tried pushing the defroster back into the mounting... Read more

I found Appliance Part Pros and looked at the schematic and found that there were 3 external parts and one had to be it. I replaced them one at a time, supply line, valve, then finally the tubing from the valve to the fridge which ended up being the culprit. This was caused by extremely cold weather for 2 straight weeks and the water froze in the tubing. Read more

Ice cubes jamming or not dispensing? The stripper comb releases cubes from the ejector fingers during harvest. Moderate DIY, requires partial disassembly.
I am a retired commercial hvac professional so I know how icemakers work but don't know all the brands. Looked at 15 videos on general ice makers on the internet to get clues, and then I made a list of things I wanted: brand new solenoid fill valve, new cardboard backing for the rear that the delivery men broke up delivering the fridge, and a new plastic stripper plate because outboard tine was broken on mine. Next I changed my whole house water filter. (Don't want trash in lines) Then I... Read more
