I first changed the main control board and de-iced the evaporator coils. It helped on some of the issues but the evaporator iced up in a few weeks again, so I retrofitted a timer and relay device to keep the evaporator coil clear of ice build up. That controlled that problem but the noisy fan and frost build up in the freezer compartment itself continued, so then I put in a new evaporator fan assembly and that has cleared up the rest of the issues. I purchased main control board/defrost limiter thermostat and defrost heater I only needed the defrost limiter thermostat fairly easy to do simple tools needed. I would rate this job as a 6 or 7 on a scale of 10 10 being most difficult the only thing that took time was defrosting the evaporator I used a small steam cleaner worked well Read more
