Push On Retainer Nut
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: WP3400931

The Whirlpool push on retainer nut is an OEM replacement part responsible for securing the heating element in the dishwasher. It is located in the base of the dishwasher's tub to hold the heating element firmly in place. The push-on retainer nut keeps the heating element securely connected to the dishwasher's electrical system while allowing for easy removal and replacement when necessary.

Over time, push on retainer nuts can become loose, worn out, or damaged due to regular use, vibrations, or accidental mishandling. If a retainer nut fails, it can lead to parts becoming unstable or disconnected.

Symptoms of a bad push on retainer nut include:

  • Loose or unstable dishwasher components
  • Parts falling off or becoming misaligned
  • Unusual noises during the wash cycle
  • Difficulty in securing components within the dishwasher

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Our dishwasher would not start.   Rory D. • Fairfield , CA • May 18, 2020

A bit of searching on the internet narrowed the problem down to either the heating element or the control board. As I am not much of a diagnostician I decided to replace both. Along this same line, I would never have attempted these repairs if it hadn't been for the clear, easy to understand repair videos provided for each part. Further, my decision to do my own repairs was made easier because the prices of the parts was so reasonable. I took my time, reviewed the videos and replaced the... Read more

Water Level Switch (Float)
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: WP99002560

This water level switch senses the dishwasher's tub float and controls the water inlet. Replacing a worn switch restores correct filling, helping prevent overfilling or dry cycles that can reduce cleaning performance. What it does:

  • Monitors the float position to open/close the fill circuit at the proper water level
  • Common symptoms: dishwasher won't fill or stops filling too soon
  • May also cause continuous filling/overfill if contacts are stuck closed
  • Intermittent operation can leave the tub underfilled and washing performance poor

What's included:

  • 1 water level (float) switch

Install notes:

  • Disconnect power and shut off the water supply before servicing
  • Remove the toe/kick panel to access the switch near the float assembly under the tub
  • Note wire positions; transfer connectors one at a time and secure the switch in its bracket
  • The float moves freely and actuates the switch before reassembly and testing

This part fixes the following symptoms
  • Will not drain
  • Won't start
  • Will not fill with water

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Dishwasher wouldn't drain   Ken S. • Columbus , OH • August 18, 2018

I called and talked to a customer service rep and she helped me troubleshoot the problem and order the correct part. She also sent me the pdf of the repair manual and I followed its instructions to replace the drain solenoid. It was a fairly easy repair. I wasn't sure if I would need the water level control switch, but I ordered it to be on the safe side. Turns out the original is still good. Read more

Spray Arm (Lower)
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: WPW10333330

This lower spray arm directs pressurized water across the dishwasher's bottom rack to remove food and detergent residue. Replacing a warped, cracked or clogged spray arm helps restore proper water coverage for cleaner dishes. What it does:

  • Rotates and distributes wash water across the bottom rack to remove stuck-on food and soil.
  • Clogged or blocked spray holes reduce cleaning performance on the lower rack.
  • Cracks, breaks, or worn mounting tabs prevent rotation or cause rattling noises.
  • A loose or damaged arm can cause uneven cleaning or poor rinse results.

What's included: One lower spray arm. Install notes:

  • Disconnect power to the dishwasher (turn off breaker) before servicing.
  • Remove the lower rack to access the spray arm; most arms simply snap or press into place.
  • Inspect mounting tabs and hub for damage; replace arm if cracked or worn.
  • Reinstall securely and run a short cycle to ensure proper rotation and no interference.

Touchpad And Control Panel
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: W10847804

This dishwasher touchpad and control assembly make up the main control center for a dishwasher. The touchpad contains all the functional buttons of the appliance, and the control assembly houses the control board. This component comes as one unit, and the control board is installed directly behind the touchpad in the control panel assembly portion of the part. A faulty touchpad will become unresponsive to the user's commands. The buttons will no longer control the function of the appliance when the touchpad malfunctions, regardless of whether the control board is functional or not. Unplug the dishwasher from all power and water sources. Slide the appliance out from the wall or counter. Locate the screws on the outer perimeter of the dishwasher. These screws remove the main faceplate and trim. Open the dishwasher door and remove the screws directly behind the touchpad and control panel assembly. There are fastening clips that hold the old control assembly in place. Push these clips in, and the old control panel assembly will come off. Unhook the wire harness, and repeat these steps in reverse to install the new component. This Whirlpool dishwasher touchpad and control panel assembly is a genuine OEM product sourced directly from Whirlpool. The touchpad assembly is only available individually and is not included with any other parts. This product is compatible with Whirlpool and Maytag appliances.

My husband and I were in a pickle, the dishwasher was on strike and we knew that hiring someone to fix it would probably cost the same as buying a new one. So we decided to DIY. Our dishwasher is a Jenn Air. We googled DIY how to fix online, we had an idea what parts we needed to replace. In our research and price comparison we found Appliance Parts Pros. They had good reviews and were one of the best for prices. We ordered the touch pad control panel and the electronic control board. ... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Rinse agent reservoir was leaking unit wouldn't hold liquid… just ran out as you filled it   Morgan L. • Cumming , GA • August 19, 2014

Ordered the part. Arrived the next day. Took the eleven screws off the door exposing the back of the Soap/Rinse Aid dispenser. Six screws hold it on the inside of the door. Popped off easily. There is a plug that runs from the timer to the dispenser…it's a pain to get off. Use a flat head screw driver. Screwed the new unit in place. Plugged it in. Put the door back together. I accidentally caught the door catch in the door and screwed it together seizing it...so I had to take the top screws off... Read more
