Replaced door solenoid. This was somewhat involved as the top must be removed. The oven must be pulled back fromthe wall to access the screws. The hose for the down draft fan must be removed. The gas knobs mujst be removed and the there are four bolts holding it in place underneath. After the top comes off there are four bolts holding in the solenoid. Caution. Simple fix, easier if you have a helper to hold the control panel while you unscrew the controls. Phillips head screw driver and 1/4" socket are the only tools you need. Before I swapped out the panel, a few buttons didn't work and oven wasn't operable, but i was able to use the stove top. After the fix, i have a fully functional oven again. Read more

This part is a convection fan that is designed for use on ranges. This part is responsible for circulating the hot air throughout the oven to ensure even heating. If the fan motor stops working, then this part will need to be replaced to ensure the oven is working correctly. If the oven is not heating evenly, this is also a sign that the convection fan is faulty. This replacement procedure is very easy to do and takes approximately 30 minutes from start to finish. It's important to unplug the range from the electrical outlet before attempting to replace this part. Also, allow the oven plenty of time to cool prior to working on it. Wear gloves for safety during this process. The convection fan is compatible with ranges that are manufactured by the Jenn-Air and Whirlpool brands. It is sold individually and is sourced directly from the manufacturer.
After removing the cover over the convection fan, I realized the insulation on the heating element had failed and the element had cracked. when the insulation failed, it arced to the cover and bent it causing it to contact the fan blade. I straightened the cover and replaced the convection fan/heating element assembly and it all worked again. Repair took less than 10 minutes once I had the part. Read more
