I had concluded that the igniter was going bad and ordered a new one. I also watched the video on how to replace the ignitor. The video explained that after you removed all the screws to the burner assemblies, you needed to lift the range top and replace the ignitor. They did explain that there were clips holding the top down, but implied if you exerted enough force it would pop open. I tried several times, different ways and it would not release. Then I notice that the clips were located... Read more

I have a GE Adora gas stove. Its a JGB605 model. The knob for the font left burner would not rotate. After looking through the manual, the parts lists on the internet, and checking some youtube videos I decided I had to replace the valve for the burner. It took maybe 30 minutes to disassemble the stove top. You will need a Torx driver. Swapping out the valve was trivial and reassembly was quick. I am always amazed that there are instructional/DIY videos for every possible thing on youtube!! The... Read more

This 270° burner valve controls gas flow to a single surface burner, restoring reliable flame adjustment and ignition on compatible gas ranges. Designed as a direct replacement to regain proper low-to-high flame control. What it does:
The screws ordered were the wrong type (I removed machine threads, the replacements were self threading) Not a problem. The screws fixing the burners to the top plate were badly rusted and the heads had to be drilled off. The remaining part of the screws had to be drilled out which meant that the self threading screws could then be used. Changing the valve was straight forward. No hitches whatsoever. The job took about eight hours over three days. Louis Trinidad Read more
This is an authentic OEM orifice holder sourced directly from the manufacturer for use on gas stoves. The orifice holder is located on the stovetop and supplies the gas to the burner base for cooking. If this part becomes bent or damaged or is missing from the stove, it should be replaced. If the orifice holder is damaged, the flame that is cooking the food may not receive a steady supply of gas, and the cooking temperature will be affected.Disconnect the power from the gas stove and shut off the gas supply. Take the grates and burner caps off the stoves. Remove the burner bases so that there is access to the top panel of the stove. Remove the screws holding the top panel in place and take the top panel off. Set the screws aside. Loosen the electrode bracket and take the orifice holder off the stove. Install the new orifice holder and tighten the mounting screw. Replace the parts removed during the repair and reconnect the gas and power. This orifice holder is a metal part that is sold individually. It is designed for use in gas ranges manufactured by General Electric.
I ordered the correct replacement parts. Looked up the correct way to install the parts Myself. And now the stove works great. Next thing to tackle is the oven. Just can't get all the parts at one time. I will know next time though not to just lift the top of the stove up without undoing the screws. Read more
