Color: Black. This medium burner cap is used to ensure the gas burner's heat is evenly distributed for cooking on gas stoves. The burner cap sits under the burner grate and covers the exposed flame, acting as a sort of hot plate. As the flame heats the cap, the heat is distributed upwards. The amount of heat is determined by temperature control which adjusts the gas flow. This burner cap is designed for the medium burners on the stove and should not be used for other size burners. Over time, the burner cap may become damaged due to food spills or simply due to the stove's age. If the cap is damaged, it should be replaced before cooking on the burner.Make sure the stove is completely cool before removing and replacing the burner cap. Remove the cooking grate and set it aside. Lift the burner cap and remove it from the stove. Line the new burner cap up and place it over the burner spreader. Put the grate back on the stove. This medium burner cover is made of heat-tempered metal and is sold individually. It is an authentic OEM part sourced directly from the manufacturer. It is designed for use on gas stovetops manufactured by General Electric.
