This scroll blower housing directs airflow from the blower wheel to the vent path, restoring proper air movement in the appliance. It replaces a cracked, warped, or damaged housing to improve drying and venting performance. What it does
This is a burner valve. The purpose of this part is to control the flow of gas to the surface burner. When a gas valve has gone bad, it may become stuck and not work properly. A faulty valve will cause gas to release through the burner. The user may notice that the burner flame flickers or that the burner will not turn to high. If the smell of gas is detected, make sure to turn the gas off immediately. Before replacing this part, make sure to turn the gas off. After the new one is installed, it's important to check for a gas leak.This part is sourced straight from the manufacturer and is sold individually. This particular part is compatible with cooktops that are manufactured by General Electric, including Hotpoint and RCA.
Ordered the part from Appliancepartpros. Went to YouTube and watched as many videos on the subject as possible. Reviewed the 'exploded' parts diagram to understand the construction of the system. Took existing gas manifold out, and replaced the valve. Easy. The only challenging part was removing the manifold screw from below. Probably saved $200-$250 in service calls. BTW. When installing gas fittings...make sure you know what you're doing and use Teflon paste to seal the connections. Read more
It was a little hard to get to the manifold to release the valve. I had to remove all of the individual gas attachments to be able to lift the manifold to remove the old valve. Once that was done, the rest was pretty straight forward. Read more
After an exhaustive Internet search, I found someone who had taken apart my model cooktop and referred to his pictures. I had also found similar models where the downdraft went on inappropriately. That fix was easy, just finding the control switch and ensuring good contact with the burner apparatus.
