After doing much research online, I found out that the Touchpad on the JennAir downdraft gas range JGS9900BDS is very prone to "breaking." I ordered a new igniter based on serial numbers. Maytag manufacturers Jen Air so it wasn't hard to order a replacement. Taking everything apart was straight forward. The connection on the new part was different from the old part so I cut the old connection and spliced it on the new part, make sure you use the insulating wrap from the old part on the new spliced connection to protect it. I replaced the Igniter switch, two control valves and one holder/orifice (because I couldn't get the screws out and decided to just replace it rather than re-tape it and get new screws). The one thing I forgot was I have propane and the orifice was for natural gas. Fortunately, I was able to swap out the orifice from the old holder. Read more
