I did some research and found out that this door problem was common. Appliance Pro had a good Q & A on this which led me to a repair kit for the model number of our oven. The kit included both parts of the oven hinges and the interior panel of the oven door. I also replaced the oven door gasket. The repair process went well. The decorative trim ring that surrounds a rotary encoder control knob on the oven's control panel. Located around digital control knobs, replacement is needed when the bezel is cracked, discolored, or interferes with smooth knob operation.

Very easy fix. Remove oven door by just opening it slightly and pulling up. (an easy way to clean it too). Then, with a phillips screw driver, remove two screws holding the damaged element in place. Slowly pull the element toward the front a couple inched to expose the wires. Disconnect the wires (no tools needed), remove the old element and replace it with the new.
