First, the reader should know that the oven is a GE wall oven, model JKS05P1 and it was 22 years old when I made the repair. I bought the door seal from Appliance Parts Pros so used the directions in the Q&A for this part. I loosened the screws as directed, but the old seal wouldn't budge. I searched online for other directions and discovered the screws needed to come out and the inner-liner needed to be pulled forward just a bit. This retainer secures the oven door hinges in place and is located at the bottom corners of the oven door frame. Replace if the oven door sags, won't stay closed properly, or if the hinges appear loose or misaligned.

Had to remove old glass shards, and reflector tape. Would recommend pliers. I used a utility knife and gloves. Then removed the screws on the top section of outer glass trim. This allowed me to install the metal handle brackets inside and partially behind the trim piece, before securing to new glass. The burners and drip pans that I previously ordered fit this stove perfectly. It is so much better cooking on the cook stove with the burners laying properly. I'm very pleased. My only complaint is that I wish more parts were available for this old stove, I really love it! Read more
The right lower door hinge is the pivot mechanism mounted at the bottom right corner of your appliance door. It supports the door's weight and keeps it properly aligned as it opens and closes. Replace this part if your door sags, scrapes against the frame, won't stay open at a 90-degree angle, or feels loose and unstable.
Removed oven door, slid entire oven out of cabinet about 4 inches, removed 2 screws attaching hinge, replaced hinge. Very straight forward. Read more
