My cooktop repair was a total success from start to finish. I reviewed and later followed the APP repair video, which helped me decide if I wanted to tackle the repairs and guided me right before I started. The APP phone staff member was very helpful verifying the parts I had identified online using the model number of my older GE Profile cooktop to locate and view the correct online exploded view diagram. I told him it was a pleasure working with him. The parts arrived within 3 days of... Read more

This genuine replacement part is a radiant element for electric stoves. The radiant element is the component of the stove that heats up to allow the stove to perform its essential function of cooking. If the stove is no longer heating properly or not at all, it could mean that the radiant element needs to be replaced. Luckily this is a relatively simple process. To replace the radiant element, make sure to turn the power supply off to the stove by either unplugging it or shutting off the circuit breaker. Once powered off, proceed to locate the screws that attach the radiant element to the stove. Once identified, remove them using a screwdriver and pull up on the radiant element to release it from the stove. Once released, remove the wire harness that is connected to the radiant element and place it into the new part. Place the new radiant element on top of the stove and secure the screws that hold it in place. This OEM replacement part is sold individually and is compatible with General Electric, Hotpoint, and RCA brand electric stoves.
I called and spoke with a rep about the code and she asked several questions, then said it's likely the heat sensor has failed. She shipped me the replacement part. I received it in short order and took the range apart. I tested the sensor and it passed the test, 1050 ohms resistance. I called again and another woman asked if I was testing it at room temp. I said yes, and she asked me to install the replacement anyway as the RFD may pass the test at room temp and fail at high temp. I replaced... Read more

We ordered the parts and watched the help videos. It was "almost" exact in telling us what we needed to go. Our cooktop is 16 years old and had a ton of greasy buildup that had slowly gotten down into the knobs and was a sticky mess to undo. However the parts fit perfectly, and after 2 hours of careful "home engineering" we made it happen and everything works aweome now. My dad then decided to dissect the older switches, and proclaimed that we probably could have cleaned the connecters... Read more
Removed glass cooktop. Replace burner. Tested it. Put glass cooktop back on with clear tape and rubber edge tape. Your videos are awesome and greatly simplify the process. Sorry to say the dual burner from you was way over priced. Found it from an ebay seller for almost $100 less (brand new sealed in package). Time to repair was spread over four days. Had to remove glass to determine if the problem was burner or control switch. Then order parts and wait. Then put it back together. Read more
