This part is a key panel assembly for ranges. This part houses all of the control keys. These keys include a number pad, clock, timer, broil, bake, start, clear/off, self-clean, light, and more. This key panel assembly is black in color. If the buttons do not initiate the function when pressed, it is likely that the key panel assembly will need to be replaced. Over time and with regular use, the text on the keypads could wear off due to normal wear and tear. If this is the case, the user may wish to replace the key panel assembly. The digital display may also show an F7 error message. Disconnect the range from the power source before attempting to replace this part.This particular key panel assembly is compatible with ranges manufactured by GE. It's a very simple and easy procedure to replace the display/touch control. 1. Turn power off at breaker box. 2. Remove the 4 knows by pulling on them. 3. Use adjustable wrench to loosen nuts below knobs. 4. Use screwdriver to remove screws. 5. Take off face plate. 6. Remove a couple more screws, remove main cover. 7. Detach plastic connector of old display, reattach new display cable. 8. Re-assemble and turn breaker on providing power to range. Should be ready to go. Read more
