I had to remove the microwave from the range and then remove the cover from the microwave to determine the exact problem. After a visual inspection then discharging the high voltage capacitor, I used a meter to test the high voltage diode and fuses. After using the meter to ohm out the magnetron, I removed it from the unit, and seeing that the hole in the end of the magnetron's tube was enlarged and burnt, as if it was arcing, I assumed it was the bad part. Found a replacement stirrer motor from Appliance Parts Pros.com.The motor arrived in less than a week. I removed the old noisy motor and installed the new one. Placed a glass of water in the unit to test, and the new motor made it sound like brand new. The actual repair was quite simple. You just remove the grill on the top ,front of the unit. Ordered the part which came within a week. Rather than pop back on easily, I did have to spend some time of installing it. The bottom slot insert plastic piece was a little too wide and I had to file it down to get it to slide into the microwave. Also had to take a rubber mallet to get in all the way into place. I ordered a new fan and motor unit and replaced the faulty unit.The case of the microwave was easy to unscrew and remove. The most difficult operation was to remove the appliance from the wall bracket as it weighed about 28kg. The cable connection to the motor was a push fit. Read more
