The Microwave Case is an OEM exterior shell compatible with GE built-in microwaves. It fully encloses the unit, protecting internal components from damage.
Causes of a bad case can include dents, cracks or peeling of the protective surface over time. Exposure to heat or moisture may degrade certain materials.

I ordered the cover, fan and clip to hold the cover in place at the top of the microwave. Took me less than 3 minutes to fix. Very easy and the parts dept at AppliancePartsPro are excellent. Read more
I had to remove the microwave from the range and then remove the cover from the microwave to determine the exact problem. After a visual inspection then discharging the high voltage capacitor, I used a meter to test the high voltage diode and fuses. After using the meter to ohm out the magnetron, I removed it from the unit, and seeing that the hole in the end of the magnetron's tube was enlarged and burnt, as if it was arcing, I assumed it was the bad part.
