They arrived as scheduled and after viewing two videos, the job went very smooth. I hope it puts another 27 years life into the unit. Read more
This is an interior side panel that lines the inside of the trash compactor compartment. Replace this panel if it is dented, cracked, corroded, or if damage is causing the trash bag to snag or tear during operation.
Supports the rotating shaft in your trash compactor, reducing friction for smooth operation. Replace if you hear grinding noise or the ram sticks.
I bought new thrust races, a drive gear kit, bearings and a sprocket. When the bearing went out, the thrust races, washers, one bottom plate, and a sprocket was eaten up by the the chain due to the slack being created. I followed the video for the Drive Gear Kit repair and everything went together well. I did have to remove the tracks from inside the compactor in order to remove the cardboard liner that "hides" the drive rods. Additionally, be careful to not over-tension the chain when... Read more

The compactor failed with the ram down, so the drawer wouldn't open which in turn made the mounting brackets inaccessible. This necessitated sliding a thin oscillating saw blade between the cabinet face frame and the counter top to cut through the brackets. It was then possible to roll the unit out and place it on its side. I removed the five screws holding the bottom pan in place, dropped the pan exposing the gear/chain train. The large gear was cracked from shaft out to the edge. One of... Read more
