Black rubber splash guard for garbage disposals. Installs in sink flange opening to prevent splashing. Replace when cracked, torn, or deteriorated.
Removed disposal after disconnecting plumbing. Removed supporting bracket and old splash guard. Pushed new guard onto top of disposal, reconnected supporting bracket. The hard part was pushing the disposal back onto the support bracket and rotating it into place. Disposal is heavy and I needed to lever it into position and hold it with the lever, it takes two hands to rotate the disposal tight. I installed a Kitchen Aid 3/4 HP disposer in 1994 to replace the junky builder's unit that came with the house. I wanted a wham-jam model, but was told they didn't make them anymore.
