I'm no repair expert, but this looked like a really easy job, but it wasn't. It took about 1.5 hours. You have to remove the oven from the wall to do the job. After you remove the back panel it's pretty self explanatory. I had some difficulty getting the back panel to fit properly. Patience and persistence. I suggest taking a photo of the panel before you remove it to help. In the end it's all together and working fine. Read more
After inspecting the unit I noticed the inner oven box had four sections. The center section of the ceiling of the top oven had separated from the right side wall and had fallen to contact the top heating element. The gap created affected the Oven Temp. Sensor which caused the ven to shut off and the code to display. I repaired the ceiling and cleared the code. Problem solved. I replaced the panel and the oven now works 100%. Thank you AppliancePartsPros! I also needed a new control board which is not made by Whirlpool any longer. Having seen the repair men disassemble my oven to replace a light bulb in the microwave/convection section (Yes, that's right!! I can't believe they designed it that way.), I decided to take on this task myself. Access to the broil element is near the light. Okay, so it took me a couple of hours but it saved me nearly $300.
