The evaporator fan motor is the small electric motor that drives the fan responsible for circulating cold air from the evaporator coils throughout your refrigerator or freezer compartment. Without it running properly, cold air cannot reach all areas of the appliance. Replace this motor if your refrigerator or freezer is not maintaining temperature, you hear a loud squealing or grinding noise from inside, or the freezer is cold but the refrigerator section is warm.
