Ordered the replacement part from AppliancePartsPros.com. The part arrived in two days with the standard shipping option. Although the outside of the shipping package was damaged in transit (partially crushed, holes punched in side), the replacement door assembly was packed very well with foam padding and plastic wrap that prevented any damage to the part in shipping. This replacement part is an electronic control panel. This electronic control panel is able to display certain information to the user and allows them to alter the controls according to their preferences. A new electronic control panel might be needed if the connection has become worn down between the panel and the machine. If the display is no longer showing information, it might be best to replace the part altogether as the display may be damaged.This is a genuine OEM replacement part made by Whirlpool and sold individually.

Local appliance repair company quoted over $800 parts and labor to repair. Said parts AP6014094/WP9761566 (Membrane) and AP6016433/WPW10181439 (Electronic Control Board) were needed to fix. Bought both parts from AppliancePartsPro, installed in less than 30 minutes, but did not fix the problem. Using APP's website information bought the ribbon wire (AP6015869/WPW10155291) and Harns Wire (AP3892247/9762921).
