Nut (Retaining)
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: 8184404

This retaining nut secures components to their mounting studs so panels and assemblies stay tight and aligned. It replaces a missing or worn fastener to stop rattling and prevent parts from loosening during normal use. What it does:

  • Threads onto a mating stud to hold panels, brackets, or small assemblies in place
  • Stops vibration-related noise caused by loose fasteners
  • Prevents parts from shifting or falling off due to a missing or damaged nut
  • Works wherever the specified nut size and thread match the appliance stud
What's included: One retaining nut Install notes:
  • Disconnect power to the appliance before starting any repair
  • Use the correct-size wrench or socket to avoid rounding the nut
  • Tighten until snug; avoid over-torquing which can strip threads or damage studs
  • Keep small parts away from children and pets; replace with identical fastener only

Cooking Tray
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: 4393799

*** Note: This glass tray has 3 partial-circles to engage the coupler. In some cases, the factory used a tray that has 3 triangles. For that glass tray use part# W11367904. ***

The Cooking Tray is an OEM part for Whirlpool microwaves. This glass tray sits on the turntable support and rotates to ensure that food heats evenly throughout the cooking cycle. It is designed to fit securely within the microwave, providing a stable platform for various dishes and containers.

Over time, the cooking tray can become damaged due to regular use, drops, or exposure to extreme temperatures. If the tray is cracked or broken, it can lead to uneven cooking and potential safety hazards.

Symptoms of a bad cooking tray include:

  • Visible cracks or chips on the glass surface
  • The tray not rotating properly
  • Uneven heating or cooking of food
  • The tray wobbling or not fitting securely on the turntable support

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Plastic door handle broke off Kitchenaid microwave   George S. • Lauderdale Lakes , FL • March 20, 2014

Ordered a part from Appliance Parts which fit perfectly. The only hard time which was a challenge was to snap the framework off the door itself, without breaking the glass. With a flat head screwdriver it was easy to pop the whole thing out after loosening the plastic snaps around the door. A little pressure by the door side of the frame and it just came loose. It was my first time repairing a handle and the internet helped a lot. I also queried on youtubes on repairing door... Read more

The issue with the part is design. The plastic grows brittle over time, perhaps due to heat exposure above the stove. The repair was as easy as they come. Remove the screws from the old broken off pieces, insert the tabs into the bottom of the vent, pop the top into place and put the screws back in. done. 5 min. Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Microwave inlet cover had a hole burned in it microwave was arching during use   James M. • Atlanta , GA • December 18, 2014

Pried the old cover off. It was like a piece of particle board glued to the roof of the microwave and connected via plastic inserts.
