Fixes cracked or broken transmission housing causing loud grinding noises or gears slipping. Metal upgrade from plastic. Moderate DIY repair with video.
Opened up transmission housing and removed all gearing to inspect for worn parts. The Professional 6 is all metal (except for the transmission housing cover) so just a couple of gears looked worn. Planetary needed adjustment, although the gearing was solid. Replaced the transmission housing cover with a new metal version. Cleaned out the old grease (all that grease...) and repacked the gears. Closed it up, ran it for 30 minutes to set in the new grease, and everything sounds smooth and... Read more

Planetary gear assembly for KitchenAid stand mixers. Installs on the drive shaft to rotate beaters. Replace if bent, cracked, or teeth are worn.
The vertical shaft showed a slight bend so I replaced the bent shaft with a new shaft. I should have done that when I was replacing the gears. Fix grinding noise or leaking grease with a new lower gearcase housing. Restores proper alignment and contains lubrication for quieter mixing.
DID A FULL OVERHAUL on the KitchenAid Stand Mixer. I've had the mixer for over 25+ years and it finally stopped working. But instead of buying a new one, which is not made the same, I did an almost complete overhaul on this one. Replaced: Lower Gearcase, Transmission housing, front sleeve bearing, worm gear, motor shaft seal, worm follower gear, and drive motor. Watching the videos was very helpful, especially when removing the lower gearcase. Read more
If your stand mixer bowl lift won't stay up or slips out of position, this spring roll pin secures the lift arm linkage. Requires pin punch to install.
I followed the online tutorials, there are many....replaced the PLASTIC part that had worn out Part #: AP4325266 (241764), and also the roll pin, Part #: AP3038054 (9703442) that held it in place with the handle. THIS IS THE HARDEST part of the entire repair, pounding out the roll pin and pounding it back in. A special tool should probably be used for this. I had a small specialized driver bit that "fit" for the job, so I abused it. Probably didn't need to BUY a NEW roll pin, ( it HAS be... Read more
