This gearcase transfers motor power to the wash tub and agitator, restoring normal agitation and spin cycles for top-load washing machines. Replaces a worn or failed transmission assembly to recover wash performance. What it does:

• Converts motor rotation into the low-speed/high-torque motion needed for agitation and the higher-speed motion for spin
• Restores normal agitation and spinning when a washer fails to move or completes cycles poorly
• Reduces grinding, clunking, or slipping noises caused by worn internal gears
• Helps stop leaks of internal gear lubricant when the seal or housing is compromised

• One gearcase assembly

• Disconnect power and shut off water before starting; follow the washer service manual for safe disassembly
• Gearcase replacement may require removal of the inner tub, drive coupler, and mounting hardware—have basic hand tools ready
• Inspect surrounding seals, gaskets, and mounting bolts; replace any damaged components to prevent leaks
