Removed the back cover to access the fan area. Clean the area with brush and vac first. Unplugged the Refrigerator. Used a socket set with 1/4" socket. Had an extended and a standard socket. Removed the condensate plastic drain from the bottom of the refrigerator to have more access to the fan. Unplugged the fan motor. Removed the two screws holding the fan in place. This part is an ice auger gear motor that is used on refrigerators with freezer units. The motor is the component that turns the auger, which in turn pushes the ice cubes out of the dispenser. Viewed video on how to repair ice door. Take care when using a putty knife to pry the exterior cover of the ice/water dispenser frame off door. Look underneath and make sure you are not prying against the part that's bolted to the door or you could break it.. Mine also seemed to be glued on and it seems like it does not sit flush against the door after I reinstalled it. It may have been that way to start with.
