Removed the old slide. Took a few minutes to find the part, but not difficult. When it arrived installed it in about three minutes. Put the drawer back. Read more
Removed the back cover to access the fan area. Clean the area with brush and vac first. Unplugged the Refrigerator. Used a socket set with 1/4" socket. Had an extended and a standard socket. Removed the condensate plastic drain from the bottom of the refrigerator to have more access to the fan. Unplugged the fan motor. Removed the two screws holding the fan in place. First replaced start capacitor but that did not work, the start kit which has a relay and overload protector is what was needed. The relay is actually the only part that was bad I believe. After pulling the relay off the compressor you could shake it and it rattled, the new one did not. Really pretty easy and definitely cheaper than a service call. Read more

This part is an ice auger gear motor that is used on refrigerators with freezer units. The motor is the component that turns the auger, which in turn pushes the ice cubes out of the dispenser. If the motor fails, the dispenser will not dispense the ice cubes. Some users report the ice dispenser only working intermittently at times.
