Raised the leveling feet so the wheels were now on the floor, rolled the 7' tall beast out from the wall, turned off the water valve, unplugged the unit, and used a crow bar to lift each side enough to put a 2x4 block under the front feet so I'd have room to remove and replace the valve. All went well but it's still a tight fit even with the addition ~2" of room to work. Not a space for big fat hands like mine. Read more

First replaced start capacitor but that did not work, the start kit which has a relay and overload protector is what was needed. The relay is actually the only part that was bad I believe. After pulling the relay off the compressor you could shake it and it rattled, the new one did not. Really pretty easy and definitely cheaper than a service call. Read more

Replaced the defrost heater from another model. It was the same heater with a different plug so I changed out the plug. Also changed the thermistor, thermostat, and defrost timer.
