This bracket supports the rack adjustment mechanism in dishwashers, allowing height changes for different dish sizes. Replace if racks won't adjust properly, are unstable, or the adjustment mechanism is broken.
After noticing that the dishwasher was leaking , I noticed that the hose was split on the knit line. Replaced that with an automotive hose and on further investigation I noticed that a gasket was leaking also. Easy to replace and repair. Also used some dielectric grease. Reassembled and no leakes.
