The coarse strainer screen is located at the bottom of the dishwasher tub and filters large food particles from the wash water. Replace it when dishes remain dirty after washing, you notice poor drainage, or the screen is cracked or clogged beyond cleaning.

This latch component secures the dishwasher door in the closed position and activates the door switch for operation. Replace when the door won't stay closed, doesn't latch securely, or the dishwasher won't start despite the door being shut.

The door latch assembly is the mechanism that catches and holds the appliance door firmly shut during operation, preventing it from swinging open mid-cycle. On ovens, it also engages during self-clean cycles to lock the door securely at high temperatures. Replace this assembly when the door won't stay closed, the latch feels loose or broken, or the oven won't begin or complete a self-clean cycle.
