Beyond the excellent repair videos, a couple of tips: 1) with the agitator stripped, there is no way to hold the transmission from turning while trying to break loose the agitator screw - defeat the lid switch, set the machine to agitate and work the socket wrench against the motor. 2) the videos call for the use of penetrating oil when trying to free the spanner nut. First I looked at the many you tube vids, and there are many. appliance parts pros pretty much shows you how to deal with the parts. I changed the brake shoes and the clutch assembly which also comes with the driver cam. I also changed the metal brake operating cam. Used from harness to top.
Fixing the problem was quite simple. First, I removed the lid assembly (thanks to the diagrams supplied by AppliancePartsPros.com!). Getting the back two screws out was very difficult because I couldn't see them from the front and I could not move the unit out of the enclosed space. After some trial and error, I located the screws which were 5/16 hex head screws and removed them with a MAGNETIC nut driver.
