Whirlpool WPW10119828 Washer Lid Screw OEM Part

I just replaced the glass lid and broken plastic frame with the all metal one. Call 877 477 7278 for appliancepartspros and order the following Whirlpool parts (prices as of November 2016): 1 lid part number WP8572026 (AP6013408) for $119.81 2 hinges WP8563964 (AP6004844) for $6.17 each 4 screws WPW10119828 (AP6015313) for $1.97 each Total $140.03 plus $8.95 shipping, grand total $148.98 Note that it does not say that this lid will fit model 7800, but the lid will fit this model. The parts came to me in two business days for the cheapest shipping. They came in two boxes, and the fedex guy only left one at first, freaked me out a little bit. NOTE that you MUST BUY new screws and hinges for the new lid, the old ones will NOT WORK. You need a Torx20 bit to remove the old hinge screws, and a Phillips head screwdriver to put on the new lid. To remove the old lid, open the lid, and remove the torx20 screws and pull the lid straight up off of the hinges. Then remove the hinges from the washer by pulling them toward the inside of the washer. Leave the rubber gaskets (around the hinges) on the washer. (Note mine were white plastic washers, not rubber. Put them on the new hinges between the washer and the new lid) On the new lid, install one hinge with two screws on one side of the lid. Then insert the hinge into the gasket of the washer. It will pop into place. With the lid up, push the second hinge through the lid into the gasket and into place in the washer. Then fasten the second hinge to the lid with 2 screws. The new lid was really simple to install and took no more than 15 minutes. The new lid is sturdy, beautiful, and it looks like it came with the washer! And it will never break! I was very hesitant to try this, but others below said it was easy and they were right. And it was much cheaper than buying a new washer. I'm so glad I did this! (My washer was from 2011, not happy about a broken lid and a bad design, but can't really complain about a $150 repair five years later. I am mikemargolis AT gmail DOT com

When our lid broke on the Cabrio model - wtw7800xw2 I looked for a new lid and found them to be very expensive. I started doing some research and found this is a common problem and Whirlpool does not help with the issue as far as a fix and says there is no problem with the design. But most every post I found on it says the new lid will do the same thing in a short time due to the spring loaded hinges that push on a part of the plastic that is weak. So I kept reading and ran across a post with a repair using a lid from a different washer that is metal and solid. The post was older, but had several others that had used the repair suggested and they said it worked. He gave the part numbers to order and even instructions on how to do the repair. So I decided to try it this way expecting to get a lid that would maybe work, but not look like it fit the washer (but who really cares what it looks like if it works was my thinking, I was tired of rigging the old broken lid and the repairs with glue sure did not fix it? Well, I ordered the parts (I'll list them at end of this post) and followed the instructions the guy had put on the post (I'll post them also at end of this post). I was amazed at how easy the repair was and even more amazed at how good the the lid fit and looked! Wish I could upload a picture, cause it looks like it was made for the washer. This is definitely the right repair for this problem and took less than 15 minutes to do! Parts: 1 pc 8572026 Steel lid 2 pcs 8563964 hinge (hinge from the glass lid are different and the screw holes won't line up and mine were very rusty) 4 pcs W10119828 screws (will need these as they are shorter than ones from glass lid and the one from my glass lid were very badly rusted when taken out) Instructions: Details on removing the plastic/glass lid. Open the lid. Remove (2) screws on each side of the lid at the hinge. Slide lid off. Pull out hinge inward toward tub (they just slide out). Keep plastic bushings. New lid installation. Install one hinge into lid. Just start but not tighten the (2) new screws. Put bushing on hinge outside the lid. Insert into washing machine. (Best to have a helper) Hold lid and insert other hinge into lid. Put other plastic bushing on hinge outside the lid and insert hinge into washing machine. Start the other (2) screws. Align and tighten.

Instead of paying more money for another glass lid that would eventually crack, I replaced it with a metal lid, hinges, and screws from Appliance Parts Pro. The installation took less than 10 minutes and it fit perfectly.

So there I was.... No, ok. Nothing that exciting. The glass lid on the Cabrio Washer cracked, but not like you're thinking. The plastic sidewall separated at the point of the most pressure where the hinge joins it to the rest of the unit. Not surprising that this happened, but have seen numerous reports and one clever guy on the innernetz replaced the glass lid with the much more durable metal one, so I took his advice and did the same. Super easy repair. Take off the old one and put on the new one. Done. It's worth noting that you need the correct hinges and screws for the replacement. You can't just use the old hing and t15 starbit screws from the glass one.

I replaced it with an all metal lid from a different model of the same line of washers that fit my machine.
