The repair sounds easy, doesn't it? It would have been, except that I actually had to do laundry while waiting for the part to arrive. So, I was using a pair of channel locks to turn the exposed bolt/post sticking out in order to turn the washing machine on. In doing so, I actually crushed part of the thread on the bolt, so the starter knob wouldn't screw on! In order to screw on the new starter knob, I had to buy a special nut which rethreaded the bolt. Plunger kit includes: Plunger, rivit and nylon insert.
Replaced it: Loosened and lifted the wig wag solenoid used a drill with grindstone and ground off the rivet head, swapped the new part in... BUT... the kit didnt contain the rivet clip so I had to hit the hardware store for a pushnut that fit, hopefully it will stay on. Read more
